Anokaa
Salisbury’s own Anokaa prides itself on providing a totally unique and special experience from the time you walk off of the street to the moment you leave. Staffed by waiters in traditional Indian dress, the restaurant is anything but trad. Funky and modern throughout you’ll find feature coloured lighting, architecturally shaped leather seating and bold, colourful art on the walls, lead the way to a lively meal. The concise menu is full of traditional Indian dishes with a French twist, many of which have been adapted to bring a lighter and healthier feel while still retaining Asian authenticity thanks to consultation with regional chefs. Desserts meanwhile are seasonally changing to ensure the freshest flavours.

Conservatory Restaurant
Salisbury’s Grasmere Hotel lies on the banks of the rivers Nadder and Avon, and the Conservatory Restaurant gives you spectacular views over the hotel gardens, down to the rivers and across the water meadows to Salisbury Cathedral. Serving traditional English food with global influences, the restaurant offers a constantly-changing menu that genuinely revolves around the seasons. In Spring, mains could be rack of English lamb baked with locally farmed honey and mustard, served on minted couscous with a fresh rosemary and redcurrant jus: Autumn may offer breast of wood pigeon filled with a rabbit and pistachio mousse, served on lavender-scented root vegetables. Starters might include warm brioche filled with button mushrooms in a creamy Madeira and Dijon mustard sauce, while puddings range from the light (pineapple boat filled with fresh fruits) to the luscious (banoffee pie). Look out for the Market Day specials, too.

Hox Brasserie
Salisbury-dwelling lovers of southern Indian cuisine already adore this stylish restaurant located on Fisherton Street. Touted as the largest restaurant in town, the Hox Brasserie is a stylish space decorated with minimalist flair, and the atmosphere is good for dates, parties and events. Head Chef Rajeev has created a diverse menu and all the dishes at Hox are artfully presented. We love the Tandoori Akkha Machli – a whole roasted sea bass with garlic and coriander served with a green leaf, mango and avocado salad; the Duck Chettnad in a fresh coconut, curry leaf and mustard seed sauce; and the Dahi Vada spicy lentil dumplings with chick peas and a sweet tamarind sauce.
