The Mothers’ Union is an international Christian Charity of 4 million members in 84 countries who demonstrate our faith in action as we work towards stopping poverty, stopping inequality and stopping injustice. Our members work to promote stable family life and , at grass roots level around the world , they bring hope and practical support to millions of people every year through parenting, literacy and community development programmes. Mothers’ Union campaign at local, national and international levels. to produce real change for family life , women’s and girl’s rights and the protection of children.
In Salisbury Diocese we have 53 Branches and over 640 members engaged in many active forms of community support including a Virtual Babies School Programme, AFIA (Away From It All) provision of subsidised caravan holidays in our caravan by the sea for families, Angel Tree Gifts for the children of prisoners, supporting our local Refuge, knitting blankets and baby items for hospitals and twiddle muffs for care homes. We actively campaign to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse through our Rise Up and 16 Days of Activism Campaigns.
